This Privacy Policy explains how AI Brief ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our mobile application and associated website.
AI Brief does not require account creation, sign-up, or login. We do not directly collect your name, email address, phone number, or similar personal information.
The App saves a single display preference (light/dark theme) locally on your device. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
Our hosting provider (Cloudflare, Inc.) may automatically log standard technical information when the App requests content, such as IP address, device/browser type, and request timestamps. These logs are used only for security, performance, and reliability, and are not used to identify individual users.
The App displays advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks (such as Google AdMob/AdSense or similar). These advertising partners may automatically collect and use technical information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, general location (derived from IP), device type, and app usage data, in order to serve and measure ads, including personalized/interest-based advertising where permitted. This collection and use is governed by the advertising partners' own privacy policies, not solely by us. You can generally limit interest-based advertising through your device settings (e.g. resetting or opting out of ad personalization via your advertising ID) or through industry opt-out tools such as optout.aboutads.info or optout.networkadvertising.org.
The App displays news content that may include images and videos hosted by third-party services, including Wikimedia Commons and YouTube. When such content loads, your device communicates directly with those services, which may collect information according to their own privacy policies:
The App includes a "Share" button that uses your device's built-in sharing functionality to let you share a story link through apps of your choosing. This is handled entirely by your device's operating system; we do not receive or store information about what you share or with whom.
We use the limited technical information described above to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the App, and (via our advertising partners) to display and measure advertising.
We do not sell your personal information. Technical/advertising data may be shared with our advertising and hosting partners as described above, solely for the purposes stated in this policy.
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will take steps to delete it.
Content is delivered over secure HTTPS connections. Because we collect minimal personal information directly, the risk of exposure through our own systems is limited; however, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
